Even though he’s one of Moscow’s most successful screenwriters, Pyotr has a secret sideline, creating alibis for people with things to hide. From infidelity and sexual perversion to tax evasion and fraud, he and his team go to extraordinary lengths to save marriages, reputations and political careers, keeping some of their shadier clients out of jail. Pyotr finds it as creative as his writing career. Happily married, with a loving wife and son, his world suddenly falls apart when his own spouse shows up wanting an alibi for cheating on him and he discovers that his son has a secret life of his own. With things veering out of control and contracted to write an adaptation of Dostoyevsky’s “Crime and Punishment”, he finds his life beginning to merge with that of the great author and turns to him ever more often for inspiration and guidance. For all the crimes that he, himself, has enabled, perhaps his own punishment is only just beginning.

In the world of animated series, where superheroes and fantastical adventures often take the spotlight, there’s a show that quietly made its mark without the usual fanfare but with plenty of heart and humor. “Rikoshet” (2019) is a gem that deserves a closer look, not just for its entertainment value but for the lessons it imparts and the unique approach it takes in storytelling. This article aims to shed light on what makes “Rikoshet” stand out in a sea of animated series.

The Premise

At its core, “Rikoshet” is about a young boy who dreams of becoming the best luchador in the world. However, this isn’t just a story about wrestling; it’s a journey of self-discovery, friendship, and overcoming challenges. The show does an excellent job of weaving these themes into episodes that are both engaging and meaningful.

Characters That Resonate

One of the strengths of “Rikoshet” lies in its characters. They’re not just caricatures or stereotypes; they’re well-rounded individuals with their own fears, aspirations, and quirks. Let’s take a closer look at some of them:
